Emma Sweet, a 2-year old girl, was the child found dead. Tragically, her death was due to asphyxia, hypothermia and drowning complications, just days after her father’s truck, near the White River, Columbus. According to the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office Emma’s murder was a homicide. Emma is just 2 years old and has left a legacy in her hometown and the nation through her pageant.

Emma Sweet Missing

Emma was born August 29, 2019, in Columbus. She is the daughter Jeremy W. O’Neal sweet and LinseyM. O’Neal Sweet. Emma’s father had reported to Emma that Emma was lost by her toddler mother on Thanksgiving Day. The weekend passed and investigators reported that authorities had removed the pickup truck from the river, but they could not locate any information to aid the investigation. Emma’s coat was found about two miles downstream.

Emma’s body, which was found in the White River on November 28, 2017, was recovered by rescue crews. The search took three days. Rescue crews discovered her near the White River, Bartholomew County. The body was located about 2.5 miles downstream and Jeremy Sweet was found. Duck hunters have rescued him. After finding him in the river, Jeremy and Sweet took him to a hospital. In the meantime, they were placed under 72 hour lockdown by police and charged with neglect leading to death and possession a syringe.

The tiny one was always a dancer with her father and made it to many places during her 2 years here. Emma was a Model Mavens Pageant Studio member. Emma also enjoyed spending time with her coaches. Emma was buried in Columbus, Indiana on November 20, 2022.
